Gabriella is a first-year M.S. student in Agriculture with an Animal Science option at Cal Poly Pomona. She earned her B.S. in Biology, concentrating in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from California State University, Fullerton. Gabriella brings prior research experience from her undergraduate studies as an Agricultural Research Institute (ARI) fellow researching how honeybees respond to Varroa mite infestation loads, especially through grooming behaviors that protect colony health. She looks forward to becoming part of the Cal Poly Pomona community and combining her passion for research with hands-on animal care and agricultural practices.
Madi is a second-year M.S. student in Agriculture with an Animal Science option at Cal Poly Pomona. She earned her B.S. in Animal Science (Pre-Vet) from CPP in 2024. Her thesis research, conducted in collaboration with Western University, examines the effects of fresh versus frozen colostrum and paired versus individual housing on dairy calf gut microbiome development, health, and welfare. She looks forward to expanding her research experience while advancing knowledge in livestock production and animal welfare. Her long-term goal is to pursue both a DVM and PhD to integrate veterinary medicine with research and education.
